2024 Projects
January - Vision Board Crafternoon
At the beginning of the year, my daughter-in-law to be, Leizl, told me about Vision Boards. I had no idea of what they were. Put simply: it's a visual representation of your goals, a look at the bigger picture of what you want the future to look like.

Later in the month, I hosted a Vision Board "Crafternoon!" It was fun! Several people had never heard of a Vision Board but ended up with really interesting and fun results. Here are two of them.

January - Real Life Poems
At years beginning, my sister-in-law, Melanie,
Inspired and encouraged me to start poetry.
I loved the medium; it was so much fun
Before I knew it, a poem had begun.
I vowed to start a new poem each day,
Luckily, my muse helped me not stray.
The poems are based on real events in my life.
Many cause laughter, but some lead to strife.
I became obsessed, and created plenty
And in fact I've already written twenty!

March - Purses for Lucy & Daisy

Years ago I gave my goddaughter, Sophia, a purse filled with a wallet money, credit cards, driver's license's, etc. She loved it. I wanted to do something similar for Lucy and Daisy and found these hand bags on Amazon. All I needed to do was add photos to their driver's license's and passport. They LOVED them!
April - Self Portrait Crafternoon

After my friends and I had so much fun making our Vision Boards, I decided to host a Crafternooon. In April, we did self portraits - they were hilarious!
April - Ruby

Our niece, Ruby, and family came for a visit in April. Little did I know what a budding artist she was. We spent the next three days making art! The first project was a collage of recycled acrylic paint. The next was a multi-media painting, complete with a dog house. Then she covered a root beer bottle with decorative paper and added bouquets of flowers. Her work was amazing. When we finished, I made her a logo that she can use on all of her projects! Super fun!

May - Fabric Art Crafternoon

A while back I came in possession of 10 fabric sample books and decided to make fabric art. I did a few tests to make sure the fabric would stick to the boards. Here are the proto-types.

August - A Cube For Justine
One day, I took a dress to my seamstress. While there, I noticed a photo of a very handsome gentleman on her cork board. It turns out that he was someone who passed, someone who was very special to her. I decided to make a cube that she could cuddle up to any time. Here are the photos that went on the cube.
