Sculpture

Earlier in the year, I offered to donate a Happy House to the Honolulu Humane Society.  After I sculpted the fam, I decided to put little dogs inside the house.  Then i decided to make a 'dog house' for my friend Fay's Maltese.  Here they are.

After the 3 Graces, I decided to try and sculpt the family - here we are!

Okay, so I'm shopping in Pier One and see these cool wire dress forms and decide there's got to be something to do with them. I buy one; I look at it for a few days and then decide to give it a head and clothes. Bought fimo for the head, watched a YouTube video to see how to make the face, then the fun began - the clothes! Finished the first one and decided she had to have some friends. Here we have Princess Grace, Aloha Grace and Asian Grace.

In May of '09, my daughter and I went to Rancho La Puerta, an incredible health spa in Mexico.  Yes we went, no we were not kidnapped by drug lords nor did we catch swine flu.  Instead, while there, I took a sculpture class.  At first I was quite dubious about the process.  We had, however, an incredible teacher, Ignacio.  It was one of best art projects I've ever done. Here are the results.
